"I knew I had to get a website to sell my products to a bigger audience but I was quite scared to get one.
I thought it would be really difficult for someone like me to understand. I was born before the computer age and used paper and pen and looked things up in the library. I knew nothing about the internet or websites and had only a basic knowledge of it.
Before I contacted Natalie I checked out different sites and mentally designed what I wanted.
After my first consultation I knew that what I saw in my head would end up on my site. Nat made great suggestions about things I didn’t even know you could do with a computer.
It took Natalie a week to convince me that there was nothing I could do to take the site off line, permanently delete something by accident or just generally stuff it up!
There was a solution for just about everything I did wrong.
The thing that scared me the most was that I would maintain my site myself! Add and delete products and entire lines, upload photos, text and actually interact with people online!
Well, now, I wouldn’t have it any other way and I know if I really do stuff up Nat is at the end of the line to let me know that while yes, I did make a huge mistake, it can be fixed and life will go on.
If you don’t know how to use a computer or know very little about the internet then Natalie is the web girl for you.
She told and taught me how to do everything and she spoke in my language. Not computer talk. I wasn’t interested in talking to someone who thought they could dazzle me with there knowledge of computers. And I certainly wasn’t interested in someone who treated me like an imbecile just because I didn’t speak computer. If I didn’t understand what she was going on about (which was often) I would tell her, or the look on my face would tell her and she would dumb it down even further until I did get it. Not once did she make feel stupid or that I couldn’t ask her even the most basic question.
The way I look at it is this. She’s there to make my website, fix it up, make it work and look good and teach me how to use it so it’s mine. And occasionally take a phone call with me screaming down the line “BUT I DON”T KNOW HOW I DID THAT!”
I’m here to sell my record handbags, coasters etc.
She’s my electronic shopfitter and I’m the retailer.
I am so much more competent on the computer and sometimes quite fearless. (go me)
Now instead of selling at markets and to the occasional person who stopped me in the street, I sell all over the world.
Sweden,USA,UK, Germany even Russia. It absolutely blows my mind.
Websites are the way of the world and I just can not believe that because of fear and ignorance I took so long to get one.
